Split, Sofija, Solun- antisemitski napadi
|
SPLIT
U noći između 29. i 30. 05. 2011. jedan ili više
nepoznatih počinitelja ispisali su i iscrtali veliki
broj grafita antisemitskog i ksenofobičnog sadržaja
na zidovima, vratima i informacijskoj
ploči oko i na
ulazu u Židovsku općinu Split i sinagogu.
Nakon otkrivanja ovih sadržaja u prijepodnevnim
satima,
sve je fotografski dokumentirano,
policija je izvršila očevid
i započela istragu,
a grafiti su uklonjeni.
U nastavku je priopćenje za javnost Židovske općine Split:
Najnoviji vandalizam na ulazu u Židovsku općinu
Split i treću najstariju aktivnu sinagogu u Europi
se velikom količinom grafita i mržnje koja iz njih izbija
izdvaja od inače dosta česte pojave kukastih križeva i
ksenofobičnih slogana na splitskim zidovima.
Ovakvi ekscesi pokazuju sliku i obraz grada u
najružnijem svjetlu, a u već zahuktaloj turističkoj
sezoni počinitelji nanose više štete inače tolerantnom
gradu Splitu i njegovom međunarodnom image-u
nego vrlo maloj splitskoj Židovskoj zajednici.
Volja, sposobnost i efikasnost nadležnih organa da
u što kraćem roku pronađu vandale i primjereno
ih kazne iz edukativnih razloga dat će krajnji sud o
tome koliko se ovakav ispad treba smatrati aktom
pojedinca, a koliko stavom društva.

Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece
The Holocaust Memorial of Thessaloniki
was vandalized
on
Friday
17 June 2011,
with swastikas and anti-Semitic slogans.
Perpetrators smudged the bronze plaque
with the inscription
dedicated to the 50.000
Jews of Thessaloniki who perished during the Holocaust, and wrote "LIES" on it.
This hideous act coincides with the decision
of the City Council of
Thessaloniki to bestow
the City's highest decoration over the 30
Holocaust survivors still living Thessaloniki in a ceremony to be held
today, Monday 20 June.
The Central Board of Jewish Communities in
Greece and
the Jewish Community of
Thessaloniki issued press releases
condemning this anti-Semitic attack and
urging the authorities to
take all necessary
measures in order to
apprehend the culprits.
The Minister of Education Anna Diamantopoulou,
the City
Council of
Thessaloniki
as well as the local Mayor Giannis Boutaris
issued public statements condemning
the vandalism.
Sofija, Bugarska
The European Jewish Congress, in solidarity with SHALOM, the Organization of Jews in Bulgaria, firmly condemns the acts of antisemitic vandalism that have defaced the walls of the "Dimcho Debelianov" Jewish School in the city of Sofia
.
Antisemitism has no place in democracies such as Bulgaria that, like other member countries of the European Union, has strong legislation against racism, xenophobia, antisemitism and related intolerances.
In times of political and economic uncertainty, governments and law-enforcement agencies must do their utmost to prevent and fight against the spread of hatred and racism.
Declaration of the Organization of the Jews in Bulgaria “Shalom”
On 21.03.2010, the International Day for Elimination of Race Discrimination, vandals violated the building of 134 school “Dimcho Debelianov” in Sofia.
In this school the children with Jewish origin in the capital study their mother tongue – Hebrew. The vandal act is made in a moment, in which Bulgaria is in hard economical situation and the society is specially vulnerable to such deeds.
The vandalism to the building of the Jewish school does not affect only the Jewish community in Bulgaria.
This act affects hundreds of children and their parents, who are not with Jewish origin, but study in this school.
Bulgarian citizens, who do not want such deeds to destroy the fragile social and economic stability in the state, are also affected.
This has influence on the image of Bulgaria in front of outside world and damages the good name of the tolerant Bulgarian people and society in front of world Jewish community, which is sensitive to the acts of xenophobia and anti-Semitism.
This vandal act is made a week before Jewish holiday Pesach and the Christian Easter. In the days, when all people, without difference in ethnos or religion, have to open their hearts for the good, the vandals sow hate. Hate, which verges on terrorism.
Organization of the Jews in Bulgaria “Shalom” believes that the police and other bodies will do their job professionally and actively.
But we, once again, appeal to Bulgarian politicians to express definite political position about the acts of anti-Semitism and xenophobia, which became more frequent.
We have to realize that hate, especially with vandalism, is directedto all Bulgarian people and society and is dangerous
factor for destabilization of the situation in the state.
We appeal to the citizens and the citizen society to react definitely against such acts and not forget, that who sows hate today, reaps storms tomorrow.
