European Jewish Congress Receives Endorsement from Czech Prime Minister on Plan of Action to Combat Rise in Anti-Semitism

Evropski Židovski kongres (EJC) je održao sastanak Izvršnog odbora , u Pragu 15.svibnja 2012. Nakon sastanka su svi članovi odbora bili pozvani od češkog premijera Petra Nečasa u palaču Lichtenstein na diskusiju o novim opasnostima za židovsku zajednicu. EJC je primio od češkog premijera prijedlog njegovog plana kako da se najbolje tretira taj problem.
Na vrhu programa sastanka EJC sa premijerom Češke su bile trostruke opasnosti : jačanje neo-nacizma, koji je iskoristio ekonomsku situaciju, huškanje i napadi muslimanskih ekstremista i mogući rast antisemitizma u Evropi zbog eskalacije na Srednjem Istoku.
EJC predsjednik dr. Moshe Kantor je uručio premijeru Nečasu nagradu "
Compass of Jerusalem Award" za prijateljstvo prema židovskom narodu i državi Izrael i za njegov rad na tolerantnijoj i pravednijoj Evropi.

The EJC delegation also expressed its concern about the rise in incitement and attacks against Jews from extreme Muslim elements... ” Kantor continued. “There is a great concern that an escalation in the Middle East or an attack on Iran’s illegal nuclear weapons program, either by Israel, the US or any other joint forces, could trigger vicious attacks against the European Jewish community.
EJC ima plan za pan-evrospku koordinaciju inteligencije, sigurnosti i općeg shvaćanja opasnosti u javnosti kako da se nosi sa takvim opasnostima.
The EJC laid out important phases of the plan that require implementation to safeguard European Jewry and other minorities. ..

The EJC has already met with French President François Hollande and has meetings scheduled in the coming weeks with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and the Prime Minister of Spain, to discuss these issues and receive their cooperation and assistance...
“We thanked Prime Minister Nečas for his endorsement and noted the low levels of anti-Semitism in the Czech Republic. We hope that this can serve as a model for other parts of Europe,” Kantor said. “It is important that a strong message is sent out that the delegitimization of Israel is akin to the New Anti-Semitism and has no place in Europe.”
