1200 young Jews participate in 2018 Jewrovision



The Youth Centre ‘Amichai’ in Frankfurt has won this year’s Jewrovision contest, Europe’s biggest dance and singing competition for Jewish youth, which took place for the first time in the city of Dresden. Dr. Josef Schuster, President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the country’s EJC affiliate handed the winners the trophy, in the Messe Dresden in front of more than 2.000 cheering spectators.


Omladinski centar "  Amichai" u Frankfurtu je pobjedio na godišnjem  " Jewrovision" natjecanju, koje je najveće natjecanje  za židovsku omladinu u pjevanju i plesu, i koje se prvi puta održalo u gradu Drezdenu. Nagradu je uručio dr. Josef Schuster, predsjednik Centralnog koncila Židova u Njemačkoj, ispred više od 2.000 razdraganih gledaoca. Drugo mjesto je bilo za  ‘Or Chadasch’ Mannheim i " JuJuBa"  Baden, a treće za   ‘Chai’ Hannover.  Nagrada za najbolju video predstavu je dobila ‘Amichai’ Frankfurt.

Ove je godine na "Jevrovision" sudjelovalo 1200 mladih ljudi starih od 10 do 19 godina iz 65 židovskih zajednica.

Central Council President Dr. Schuster stated: “At Jewrovision, many of the participants make friendships for life. Through this shared experience, they are able to connect. And that’s why the Jewrovision is part of the cycle of Jewish life. Participants return to their communities after Jewrovision with a strengthened Jewish identity and with a reinforced sense of community, and are able to contribute to a diverse and modern Judaism”
