Sporazum EU-Izrael

European Jewish Congress Welcomes European Union-Israel Agreement Which Will Benefit Both Europeans and Israelis

Evropski židovski kongres je pozdravio sporazum između Evropske Unije i Izraela, koji će koristiti i Evropljanima i Izraeličanima

Predsjednik Evropskog židovskog kongresa dr. Moshe Kantor je pozdravio i "aplaudirao" prihvaćanju Protokola o EU-Izraelskom sporazumu  ACAA ( Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products) u Evropskom parlamentu.

“This is a great achievement for the EU and Israel and will be of enormous benefit to Europeans,” Kantor said. “Today, we saw common sense prevail and saw the result of the hard work of the EJC and our colleagues in other organizations who have been involved in this issue from the beginning.”

“This is a great achievement for those who seek to put European citizens’ welfare first before politics.”

ACAA will allow Israel to gain new access to European pharmaceutical markets. The EU is one of Israel’s major export markets for pharmaceuticals. The ACAA would allow companies that are registered, and have received certification of standards in Israel, to export their products to the EU without having to obtain a separate certificate of standards from the EU (because Israel would be applying the same standards and certification procedures as the EU). This would benefit Israeli companies and facilitate trade between the EU and Israel in products included under the ACAA.

“This agreement will reduce costs for European patients ; provide faster access of Israeli medicinal products to European markets and give the consumer a wider array of choice,” Kantor said. “In addition, it will improve the quality of medicines. The agreement is a win-win situation for all.”

“We are delighted that in recent months there has been a noticeable trend in upgrading relations across many issues between the European Union and Israel and we hope it continues.”
