$10 million awarded to U.S. Holocaust Museum for Shoah studies

WASHINGTON (JTA) – The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., received a $10 million grant from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation. The museum’s Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies will be renamed the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies and will concentrate on Holocaust studies throughout the world. The center sponsors new Holocaust scholarship, training new scholars in the discipline.
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum u Washingtomu primio je 10 milijuna dolara od fondacije "Jack, Joseph i Morton Mandel". Centar za napredne studije Holokausta ( "Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies") će se od sada zvati prema fondaciji i posvetiti će se studiju Holokausta u svijetu, preko školarina i pripremama učenjaka za tu disciplinu. Direktorica muzeja Sara Bloomfield je kazala kako je obitelj Mandela pomogla i ranije osnivanju Muzeja a sadašnji poklon će nam omogućiti budući rad i osigurati stalno sjećanje na Holokaust..."
Mandel fondacija je najavila i poklon od 13 milijuna dolara Ben Gurion univerzitetu u Negevu.
