Holocaust memorial centre opened at Primo Levi workplace
The paint factory in Italy where author and Holocaust survivor Primo Levi worked has been re-opened as a Holocaust museum. The Train of Memory House in the Siva factory in Settimo Torinese, where Levi worked for nearly 30 years, was inaugurated as a museum and education centre at the weekend.
Tvornica boja u kojoj je radio Primo Levi, koji je preživio Holokaust, otvorena je kao Muzej holokausta. Memorijalna kuća u tvornici SIVA u Settimo Torinese, u kojoj je Levi radio gotovo 30 godina je postala muzej i edukacijski centar. Tamo je radio kao kemičar i menadžer od 1947 do 1975. Primo Levi je napisao memoare iz Holokausta: "Survival in Auschwitz" i "The periodic Table".

The new complex includes an exhibition prepared by the Holocaust memorial museum at Auschwitz and another exhibition on the plight of refugees. It will host concerts, lectures and other events. There is also an exhibit on Levi’s life located in the office he used when he worked as the plant manager. Over the past decade, the Train of Memory organization has brought 25,000 Italian high-school students on study trips to Auschwitz.
